Do You Feel Good at the Dentist? Three Important Aspects of Helping Dental Patients

There are a lot of ways to talk about customer service in our field. Many of them, though, really don't capture the reality for patients.

When you're booking some kind of dental work, whether it's a checkup or cavity filling or something more intensive, you tend to have a lot of feelings.

This is totally normal, and it’s a natural part of getting dental work done. People talk about it, but they don't really think about it in the right ways, at least some of the time.

At Jacas Family Dental, we try hard to understand your emotional outlook and how you feel when you're coming into the office.

We work from that basis to help our patients feel right at home. This, to most of them, is much more important than any other part of our business. You can see that from the testimonials. We see it almost every day.

Being “Nice” and Attentive

In a very fundamental way, people just want to be treated nicely when they're in the dental chair, or the waiting room.

Because this is kind of an emotionally heightened situation for a lot of people, they want to know that the hygienists and dentists ‘have their back,’ so to speak.

We do.

We take care of you very well when you come in, and that leads a lot of people to come in every time they need dental work.

Our patients feel well served, because they’re listened to and treated respectfully.

They feel like their dental teams (the teams working on their teeth) understand that this isn't always an easy thing to do!

It is easier, though, with the right people.

Take cavities. There are certain stages involved in filling a cavity. But too often, people come into the waiting room unsure of what those are, or not understanding how they work. So that makes them even more nervous.

We address this from the very beginning, and bring you through the process in a way that takes a lot of the fear and negative anticipation out of the equation…

Reasonable Pricing

There's also another kind of fear involved in dental work.

It's like dining at a fancy restaurant and getting the bill at the very end. What's that number going to be?

It has so many dental patients just simply freaking out while they're in the chair. They can't think about anything but how much they're going to have to pay, and how they're going to pay it.

We address this in two ways – first, with reasonable prices, which is ultimately important. But secondly, we also let people know what to expect, so that they don't have these worries floating around their heads while we're doing the dental work.

All of this is pretty common-sense stuff, but we hear from patients all the time about dental offices that don't put the work in. They treat dental patients like numbers, and bring them in “robotically” to do the work, kind of like an auto mechanic would rotate tires, getting cars up and down on the lift. But people aren't cars!

Professional and Knowledgeable

Finally, there's the patient's concern that they may or may not have picked the right people to work on their teeth.

Have you ever gone to the dentist and have them say: “hey, did we fill this one or not?”

Oh, boy!

Listen, this kind of ambiguity is simply unacceptable in a profession where we're helping patients to deal with fundamental health issues and they’re paying a significant amount of money, even with the fairest pricing.

People want to know that the technicians and dentists working on them are knowledgeable and approaching dental work in a professional way.

The best way to see how we excel at these really important parts of dental work and outperform the competition is to come in and check out our office.

You'll see how different it is to get dental work done in a welcoming environment, and you might ask yourself why any dental office wouldn't set themselves up this way…?

But sadly, most do not. For one reason or another, they just don't ‘feel led’ to cater to patients, and although they may still get a lot of patients in the door, their offices are places where you can feel the fear and anxiety in the air. Skip those places and come to us.
